The goal of this camp is to improve your child's passing, shooting and first touch ability.

This 2-day camp will be held on Saturday, February 20th and Sunday, February 21st (2pm – 4pm). The recommended ages for attending this camp will be from 7-14 years old. Both days will focus on technical play with as well as a minor emphasis on the tactical aspect of the game.

Registrations Closed

GCAA Rec Soccer plays by the "small-sided" games rules as defined by USYSA (US Youth Soccer Association) and by NCYSA (NC Youth Soccer Association).  We believe these rules and guidelines make the soccer experience for your child (and the adults) more enjoyable and helps all of them to become better soccer players. For more details about our Rec Soccer program click on "Rec Soccer League" menu item on the left of this page or click on "Printable Docs" for some more information about small-sided games. You may also visit the NCYSA website and review details of why small-sided games are a good idea and what is involved. The following are a few highlights including some of the bigger changes:

Highlights of U04 - U08

  • Coed Teams
  • Small-Sided Games (no goalies, 3v3 or 4v4)
  • Focus on Player Development, not on wins and losses (we don't keep scores or standings)
  • Coaches ref games
  • No travel for games
  • Registration Fees include uniform (jersey, shorts and socks)
  • Registration Cost: $55 (U04, this also includes soccer ball), $65 (U06 and U08)

Highlights of U10 - U16

  • Boy and Girls on separate teams where possible (single sex teams)
  • Small-Sided Games (goalies, with 5 field players in U10, 7 field players in U12, "normal" 11v11 in U14 and up)
  • Focus on Player Development, with introduction of healthy and friendly competition (however, we don't keep scores or standings)
  • Paid non-partial referees for games
  • Some travel may be required for some games (depends on number of teams)
  • Registration Cost: $65
  • Separate $20 uniform fee (not included in Registration Fee) that must be paid at least once per year (if a child plays in the Fall and then returns to the same team in the Spring that player may use the same uniform for both seasons)
  • Uniform includes soccer jersey, shorts, and socks

GCAA Soccer hosts a Spring Soccer Festival each year. This Festival is optional for GCAA teams. The Festival is 2 days of soccer where each team will be scheduled for a minimum of 3 games. We invite all of our U08 and above teams to participate. We also invite teams from other area organizations. All teams must be registered with NCYSA or some other GCAA-approved governing body. Each team will be responsible for paying their own team registration fee. This fee is used to simply cover the full cost of the festival (a not-for-profit festival). More details will be provided as the Festival weekend approaches.

We always need more business sponsors. Sponsorship money helps us keep registration costs down and allows more kids to participate. If you own a business, work for a business, or know of a business or organization that would like to help please let your coach or us know.

Coaches and Volunteers

Attention All Prospective Volunteers for ALL Sports Leagues

GCAA Sports must do a background check on all adults who intend to interact with the children. This includes coach and assitant coach. Other volunteer opportunities may also require the completion of this procedure. If you are interested in volunteering please be proactive and complete this background check NOW by following the below instructions. Thank you.

SPONSORS

Sponsors are very important to the success of GCAA. Sponsors receive high recognition throughout the year. Visitors to the games and to our website are encouraged to support GCAA sponsors. Seasonal sponsor funds are needed for general operating expenses, which include maintaining the gym and playing fields, liability and casualty insurance, equipment, and paying qualified game officials. In order to keep pace with our rapidly growing community, corporate sponsor funds are critically needed for capital improvements such as lighting existing playing fields, building restroom facilities, building additional ball fields, refinishing the gym floor, providing scoreboards and bleachers, and various other facility improvements.
