Soccer Committee

The GCAA Soccer Committee is an all-volunteer group of dedicated individuals who work together to plan and oversee all aspects of each season of soccer for GCAA. The group works closely with the GCAA Board of Directors.

Responsibilities include:

  • creating and working within a budget
  • soccer player and volunteer registrations
  • field co-ordination and maintenance
  • setting rules and regulations for the soccer program
  • providing or arranging soccer coaching/parenting training
  • team creation
  • schedule creation
  • purchasing and maintaining soccer supplies (field paint, uniforms, etc) and equipment
  • update and maintian soccer website
  • communicate with public, parents, and coaches about soccer schedules, issues, and concerns
  • and any other tasks necessary for each soccer season

The soccer committee is always looking for more help. Our goal is to have 10 or more committee members at all times. If you are interested in becoming a member of our team please send an email to info@gcaasoccer.com.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Low pay... ok, no pay... this is all volunteer work!!!  :-)
  • Many hours of work and meetings... although this is greatly reduced for all of us with more people showing up to help.
  • 365 days of Soccer... just because the season ends doesn't mean the committee is done. We need to always be planning for the next season and working toward long term goals. Meetings are held about once a month. maybe a few extra at the beginning of each soccer season.
  • A sense of accomplishment when you see the kids smiling faces on game days!!!

Here's what is required of you:

  • Pass background check (should be clear if you are currently a coach or assistant coach)
  • Dependability (do what you volunteer to do and show up for meetings and field work days)
  • Good communication (willing to discuss the direction of our soccer program and how to get there on a professional level either via email or verbal)
  • A good attitude
